The beginning of this collaboration started with producer Bang Si-hyuk. Rogers recalled, “He played LE SSERAFIM’s song and I really liked it.”

Why did you decide to collaborate? “It was for a very simple reason,” he said. He listened to ‘Unforgiven,’ and he just really liked the song. It wasn’t just that I liked it, it was the best.”

LE SSERAFIM also expressed his gratitude. Heo Yun-jin said, “I grew up in the United States, so I knew what a great artist Rogers was. It is a great honor,” he said.

The work was carried out remotely. “I was in America, and LE SSERAFIM was in Korea,” said Rogers. It was a bit disappointing to work remotely, but I hope to see you in person next time.”

This new release focused on the subjectivity of LE SSERAFIM. The title song ‘Unforgiven’ contains the aspiration to break away from the rules set by the world and go on the path of LE SSERAFIM.

It is characterized by a combination of hip-hop and funk rhythms. Here, I sampled the main OST of the movie ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’.

Sakura explained, “PD Bang Si-hyuk gave me an opinion that it would look good if I sampled it.” Kazuha also added, “It’s more complete, and I can feel the addictiveness.”

Rogers said, “As a songwriter, I was very surprised that he used the OST of ‘The Outlaw in the Sunset’ for this song. It was a pleasure to play along,” he explained.

He lavished praise on ‘Unforgettable Ben’. “The song is progressive, yet exciting. It’s really great. I want others who hear what I feel to feel it too.”

This collaboration is meaningful to both LE SSERAFIM and Nile Rogers.

Because it was a new challenge for each of us. First, for LE SSERAFIM, it was both an opportunity and a challenge to work with world-class artists.

For Rogers, it was the beginning of a new genre called K-pop. What did you feel about each other through this work?

The members said, “Music is a global language, just as it has become more difficult to find a boundary between Western and Eastern artists. It was an honor, and I think I learned a lot.”

Rogers was moved by LE SSERAFIM’s message. “People can’t like everything. If you have a message you want to believe in and convey, I hope you just move on.”

LE SSERAFIM has already finished warming up before the comeback. With ‘Unforgiven’, the number of pre-orders exceeded 1.38 million. This is more than twice as high as the previous film, ‘Antifragile’ (620,000 copies).

LE SSERAFIM is a first-year rookie who has just started his journey. Nevertheless, they are already growing and establishing themselves as one of the representative 4th generation girl groups.

The members said, “We are growing through every album. Just as our music crosses the line and expands boundaries, I hope LE SSERAFIM will become a team that can expand the boundaries of music.”
