John Ross Bowie, known for his role in the popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory, has been confirmed to join the upcoming spin-off series currently in the works. Announced in 2023, the new show is said to be inspired by the original series, which aired from 2007 to 2019. Bowie will reprise his role as Barry Kripke, the quirky colleague and rival of Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons.

Reacting to the news on Instagram, Bowie posted “Exciting news from @deadline… pardon me.. deadwine”, referring to Kripke’s speech impediment in the show.
The spin-off is set to premiere on the streaming platform Max in the U.S., marking the fourth installment in The Big Bang Theory universe. This follows the original series, the prequel Young Sheldon (2017-2024), and its spin-off, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which debuted in late 2023.
