BLACKPINK’s world tour “BORN PINK” achieved the highest sales in the history of a girl group.
According to “Touring Data”, which counts concert box office revenue, “BORN PINK” sold “366,000” tickets in 26 shows (Seoul, North America, Europe) held until the end of December last year, and the sales amounted to “$78.5 million. US dollars (about 2.4 billion Taiwan dollars)”.
This is the highest sales ever for a girl group tour.
So far, the Spice Girls’ “Spice World” tour held in 2019 has set a record of “$78.2 million”.
The world tour “BORN PINK” started with the Seoul concert in October last year, followed by the European tour in North America, and the Asian region including the Tokyo Dome in Japan starting in January this year, BLACKPINK’s first tour in 4 years received attention again this year.
YG recently stated that “fans have been asking for additional performances” and announced additional performances, which will be held at “MetLife Stadium” in New Jersey on August 12, “Alexander Stadium” in Las Vegas on August 18, and “Alexander Stadium” in Las Vegas on August 22. On August 26 at Oracle Stadium in San Francisco, and at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on August 26, it is expected that the total sales of the tour will further increase if Asian performances and additional performances are included.
